Kampot is a river town with the old town at its center. Pepper farms, the salt fields, caves and Bokor Mountain are all day trips from it. Here is one way to spend three days, with each stop linked to its guide or listing.
Day 1
Stay on foot. Walk the market streets, see the lotus pond, and book a dinner. Finish with the night market or a riverside drink.
Day 2
Head east and toward Kep by tuk-tuk or scooter. Visit a pepper farm, drive past the salt fields, then climb to the cave temple.
Day 3
Give Bokor a full day for the summit road, the waterfall and the ruins. Or stay low: upriver rapids, a river cruise, or dolphin tours.
Kampot is a riverside town in southern Cambodia, close to the coast and to Kep. It is known for its old French-era shophouses, Kampot pepper, salt fields, and the forested Bokor Mountain behind town. Visitors come for the slow river evenings, cafés and restaurants, and day trips into the countryside.

La Plantation, east of town, publishes 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with the last tour at 4:00 PM and free entry. A guided tasting is paid. BoTree is the smaller farm some countryside tours add. Book the ride before you go; these are not a walk from the river.
