Giant Ibis Kampot: Buses to and from Phnom Penh

By Kampot Guide · Published 12 October 2026 · Sources checked 10 October 2026

Giant Ibis is a bus option between Phnom Penh and Kampot when the train schedule does not fit your day. Confirm your fare, departure and boarding point before travelling.

Where the office is

The Giant Ibis Kampot office is listed on Street 724 in the old town. It is a separate location from the Royal Railway station on National Road 3, north of the old town.

Confirm the boarding point on your ticket or directly with the operator. Do not assume the ticket office is the departure point for every service, or that a guesthouse transfer is included.

Fare and schedule

The directory records a secondary-source price check dated 4 October 2026 at around US$8 for the Phnom Penh route. This is a dated reference, not a confirmed current fare or a quote for both directions.

Check the official Giant Ibis booking site for your travel date and direction, or contact the operator. Confirm the total fare, departure time, boarding point and requested arrival time before leaving your accommodation.

Schedules and availability can change. Check what your ticket includes rather than assuming that transfers, baggage allowances or other services are identical across departures.

Bus or train?

Choose the bus if its confirmed departure and boarding arrangements fit your plans. The listed Kampot bus office is in the old town; the railway station is a different destination.

Use the Royal Railway guide to compare the train option. Check current train fares, operating days and departure times rather than assuming there is exactly one train each day or relying on an old price.

Compare the whole journey, including getting to the boarding point and onward travel after arrival, not just the advertised ticket price.

Old-town food stops, separate from your departure

Simple Things, at 54 Street 724, is a vegetarian and vegan food option in the old-market block. Check service times if you are eating before a bus departure or between coffee stops.

Aroma House, at 33 Street 722, is another old-town meal option for hummus, shawarma and bread. Use the listing to check contact details before a late arrival.

Both are town businesses, not station facilities or confirmed boarding points. The railway requires a separate ride north; allow the operator's check-in time and confirm any bus pickup. This editorial shortlist is not a paid-placement ranking.
