Kampot Old Bridge: the landmark at the edge of the grid

By Kampot Guide · Published 12 October 2026 · Sources checked 10 October 2026

The old town still calls this crossing the Old Bridge. It is a landmark and a road, not a ticketed sight.

Which bridge is which

The Old Bridge is at the western edge of Kampot's old-town grid. The newer bridge is a separate crossing farther north. If a driver hears only the bridge, specify Old Bridge and agree which end you mean.

Check current signs and access before choosing a crossing. This guide does not confirm which vehicles can use either bridge today or promise an unobstructed pedestrian route.

A pin for the crossing

OpenStreetMap names the road here Old Bridge. The Old Bridge listing uses an approximate pin for the crossing, not a surveyed plaque or a particular meeting spot. Look for the crossing itself and confirm the riverbank or approach with anyone you are meeting.

Why people use it

Treat it as a landmark on an old-town walk, not a ticketed attraction. For a meeting, choose a safe place on the approach rather than waiting in the roadway. Respect any barriers or local instructions; the landmark description is not a guarantee of unrestricted access.

Old Bridge, newer bridge, and the river road

Street 735, Riverside Road, follows the river along the western side of the old-town grid. Rikitikitavi is listed at Street 735 and Street 728. Vanna is another listed table on that street. The night market is on Street 720. These can fit a town walk without making a bridge crossing essential.

The Royal Railway station is a separate destination north of town on National Road 3, not a bridge meeting point. Share its actual pin if you are arranging transport for a train.

For other short stops, consider the Sras Chhuk lotus pond or Kampot Museum listing, checking the museum's access separately. Keep the route flexible rather than assuming every mapped place is open.

In-town businesses for a walking break

Epic Arts Cafe, on Street 730, is an option for breakfast, coffee or cake during an old-town walk. Check its service hours rather than assuming it is an evening stop.

Aroma House, at 33 Street 722, offers a sit-down option for hummus, shawarma and house-made bread. It is an old-town alternative, not a stall inside the night market.

Rikitikitavi, at Street 735 and Street 728, is a waterfront restaurant option for a river-facing break. Check restaurant hours and table availability.

These are options within the town grid, not businesses at the attraction's entrance or a timed walking route. Check the actual street route and current opening status. This editorial shortlist is not a paid-placement ranking.
